Nopal Cactus Juice
Fights inflammation to free you from pain
The native peoples of the Sonoran Desert region of the U.S. Southwest and Northern Mexico have used the Nopal cactus plant for food and medicinal purposes for hundreds of years. Health researchers are now uncovering the secrets of this amazing edible cactus plant.
Research shows that the Pima Indians who eat a traditional diet of Nopal cactus fruit have an average life span 20 years longer than the Pima Indians who have switched to a western style diet. The first group lives on average to the age of seventy one. The second group has a life expectancy of only fifty one years.
The diabetes rates are dramatically different for the two groups as well. The first group of Pima Indians has a zero percent incidence of diabetes at age 40 while the second group has an 80% incidence of diabetes by age 40!
The Pima Indians who regularly eat Nopal cactus fruit are known to participate in endurance events including 150 mile foot races!
Nopal Cactus Research
Between 1989 and 1991 a study conducted by a prominent Mexican hospital indicated that the Nopal cactus is beneficial against diabetes. Other more recent studies support this conclusion. The Nopal cactus has the ability to lower blood glucose levels and increase insulin production.
Other studies show the Nopal cactus also supports the liver, pancreas and helps to reduce oxidative stress.
